Jay Whaley is a highly respected jeweler and metalsmith with extensive experience in the craft. Known for his expertise in jewelry design and metal fabrication, Jay has dedicated his career to teaching and mentoring aspiring jewelers. He has conducted numerous workshops and classes, sharing his deep knowledge of techniques such as soldering, forging, and casting. Jay is also recognized for his innovative approach to jewelry making, often incorporating modern tools and technology into traditional methods. His passion for the art of metalsmithing and commitment to education has made him a beloved figure in the jewelry-making community.
An innovative take on one of the most frustrating tools on the bench, the Whaley Signature Series Third Hand allows precision adjustments in multiple ways for your tweezer to be in just the perfect position. In the Z (up/down) axis, a metal post coated with a tarnish-resistant finish allows the bracket to slide up and down. Locked in with a brass nut, your height is now secured. Furthermore, in the X/Y axis (left, right, up, down), the magnetic post can slide across the heavy-duty metal base for ease of use in any position. In addition, the 360-degree rotation of the oversized magnetic ball allows for even more precise placement of a tweezer. The metal jaw accepts tweezers up to 3mm in overall thickness (a stainless steel tweezer is included).
