A clearer view of small, detailed work
The Foredom MALC15 Lighted Work Chamber brings illumination, magnification and debris control together at your bench. Its semi-enclosed workspace is designed for grinding, sanding, polishing and drilling small pieces used in jewelry making, carving, fabrication and dental lab work. Connect it to a separate dust collector and compressed air supply to help move debris away from the piece while you work.
Features that make bench work easier
- Direct light where you need it. The built-in LED tilts to illuminate the working area.
- See fine details. A 5-inch, 2.5× magnifier includes a 10× insert for closer inspection and flips up when you need more access.
- Control airflow at the workpiece. The pivoting air nozzle lets you adjust both direction and flow, moving dust toward the rear collection port.
- Help contain debris. Clear hinged shields surround the work area while keeping it visible.
- Support your hands and your work. Padded wrist rests and a magnetic work rest help support small parts during detailed operations.
- Protect delicate surfaces. The A-MWR03 magnetic rest has a rubber contact pad, a felt-covered magnetic base and two spare rubber inserts.
- Clean up more easily. The removable watertight tray collects debris and lifts out for cleaning.
- Connect compatible dust extraction. The rear port accepts a 2¼-inch hose. A separate two-pin remote connection lets the front switch control a compatible dust collector along with the light.

What's included

Setup and important notes
- Place the chamber on a stable bench and check that the removable tray is seated.
- Connect a suitable dust collector or shop vacuum using a 2¼-inch hose.
- Connect a regulated compressed air supply using the correct tubing and fittings. Do not exceed the specified maximum pressure.
- Connect the selected power cord, position the light and magnifier, and adjust the nozzle to direct debris toward the collection port.
Sold separately: dust collector or shop vacuum, vacuum hose, air compressor, air tubing/fittings as needed, and rotary tool/handpiece. This chamber has no built-in vacuum or compressor. The two-pin remote port works only with compatible remote-switch equipment.
Read the owner's manual before use. Wear appropriate eye protection and use dust collection and respiratory protection suitable for the material being worked. The shields do not replace eye protection. Disconnect power before servicing.

Frequently asked questions
Is the MALC15 a complete dust collection system?
No. It provides the illuminated work area and collection port. You supply the dust collector or shop vacuum, connecting hose and compressed air equipment.
Can I use it with a shop vacuum?
Yes. The rear port accepts a 2¼-inch hose for a dust collector or shop vacuum. Choose a collection system and filtration appropriate for the material. Automatic switching requires a compatible two-pin remote connection.
What is required for the compressed air connection?
The inlet accepts 4 mm tubing, and a 6 mm-to-4 mm coupling is supplied. You will need a separate compressor, pressure regulator and suitable tubing/fittings. Keep supply pressure within Foredom's 90 PSI / 6 bar limit.
Which voltage and plug should I choose?
Select the cord/plug option that matches your electrical supply and location. The chamber's universal-voltage power operates its LED and remote control; the separate dust collector and compressor must each have their own suitable power supply.
Does the magnifier move out of the way?
Yes. The 2.5× magnifier flips up when not needed, and its 10× insert provides a smaller area for closer viewing.
What size work fits inside?
The interior measures approximately 8 inches high, 10¼ inches wide and 6½ inches deep. It is intended for small pieces that fit comfortably in your hand, with space left for your hands and tool.
