Plug-and-play 110V — no transformer needed. Every model is stocked in 110V for true U.S. plug-and-play, with 220V available on special order. Many competing benchtop laser welders require a step-up transformer that can add $1,000+ to your setup — ours don't.

Applications & Industries
A professional benchtop laser welder concentrates energy into a microscopic weld zone — fusing metal exactly where needed with a minimal heat-affected zone. That precision makes these systems the right tool far beyond the jewelry bench.
Jewelry & Dental Labs
Ring resizing, prong rebuilding and retipping, chain and clasp repair, porosity repair in castings, attaching jump rings without solder flow, and welding near diamonds and heat-tolerant stones without removing them. Dental labs use the same precision for frameworks, appliance components, and micro-assemblies.
Aerospace Components
Repeatable, low-distortion welds on thin-wall and high-value parts: sensor housings, fuel and hydraulic fittings, brackets, blades, and prototype assemblies. Pulse shaping and tight spot control deliver consistent penetration on superalloys and reactive metals where heat input must be tightly managed.
Medical Devices & Implants
Clean, biocompatible welds for surgical instruments, implant components, titanium and stainless assemblies, cannulas, and battery-sealed devices. The localized energy delivery protects surrounding materials and minimizes discoloration, reducing post-weld finishing.
Research & Prototyping
University labs, R&D departments, and precision shops rely on programmable pulse shaping and 100-setting memory for repeatable experiments, micro-mechanical parts, tooling, and one-off prototypes — with parameters saved and recalled across operators.
Industrial & Electronics
Mold and die repair, tooling rebuilds, battery tab and sensor micro-welding, connector and contact joining, and precision metal fabrication. Deep, consistent welds on demanding parts without the size or cost of a full industrial cell.
Nuclear & Hermetic Sealing
Cap zirconium nuclear fuel rods with a dependable hermetic seal on both ends, in an inert argon gas environment. The integrated argon nozzle and high peak power create long-lasting, leak-tight seals — the same controlled, contamination-free welding trusted for sealed-source and containment work.
Hermetic Sealing of Nuclear Fuel Rods
If you need a dependable hermetic seal on both ends of a zirconium nuclear fuel rod in an inert gas environment, a Pepetools laser welder does the job. With up to 9 kW of peak power, programmable pulse shaping, and an integrated argon shielding nozzle, the 225J TauWeld creates a long-lasting, leak-tight seal while keeping the surrounding material contamination-free. For applications that call for it, Pepetools also offers pulse arc welding technology as an alternative sealing method — explore pulse arc welders or talk to our team about your sealing requirements.
Leica Scope vs. Econ Scope — What's the Difference?
Every weld you make is only as good as what you can see. Your TauWeld & TauMac welder can be configured with one of two stereomicroscope options. Both give you a magnified, stereo (3-D) view of the weld zone — the difference is optical quality and budget.
⭐ Leica Scope (Premium)
Genuine Leica stereomicroscope optics — included standard on the 225J TauWeld EDGE.
- German-engineered Leica glass with superior edge-to-edge clarity and color fidelity
- Excellent depth of field for confident work on dimensional pieces
- Bright, crisp image that reduces eye fatigue during long sessions
- The choice for inspection-grade, high-value, and production work
Econ Scope (Value)
A quality-built economy stereomicroscope at the same working magnification, for shops that want to keep the investment lower.
- Same practical magnification for everyday gold and repair work
- Solid, reliable optics at a more accessible price point
- An ideal pairing for the 80J and 165J when premium Leica glass isn't required
- Easy to upgrade later as your work grows

Argon Gas Setup — Simple for Every Model
All TauWeld and TauMac laser welders take argon gas through a standard 8 mm hose. Every machine ships with an integrated argon nozzle, so adding argon shielding is straightforward — it produces cleaner welds, reduces oxidation, and is required for hermetic and contamination-sensitive work. Connect any standard argon supply with an 8 mm line and you're ready to weld.
Need a supply? Pair your welder with an argon gas regulator and a pre-filled argon tank.

Money well spent. “Incredible machine, especially compared to what others are charging for their tabletop models. The built-in 4K camera gives you the option to aim with either the Leica eyepieces or the high-def screen.”
My new favorite tool. “I'm 100% satisfied I went with this over another brand I was about to purchase. The service is done in house by Pepetools, so that's a solid choice. Setup and installation was a breeze.”
Me encantó. “Súper” — a happy verified owner.
