Optimized Working & Setting Times:
- Working Time: 10-10.5 minutes
- Setting Time: Less than 20 minutes
- Ideal Water/Powder Ratio: 39 parts water to 100 parts powder by weight.
- Recommended Water Temperature: 72-73°F (22-23°C).
Application Instructions Highlights (for optimal results):
- Precise Measurement: Utilize the online flask calculator or calculate flask volume to determine the proper water and powder amounts.
- Water & Powder Temperature: Maintain water and powder temperatures at 72-75°F (22-24°C) to minimize working time variations.
- Deionized Water Recommended: For consistent working time, deionized water is recommended.
- Add Investment to Water: Always add the pre-weighed investment powder to water; do not add water to powder.
- Thorough Mixing: Wet out the powder for no more than 30 seconds with a paddle or wire whip. Mechanically mix for 3 minutes to activate essential ingredients. If using a vacuum mixer, mix on slow speed with no vacuum for approximately 1 minute until powder is wetted, then start vacuum, increase speed, and mix for an additional 3 minutes.
- Vacuuming: Place mixed investment in a vacuum chamber and apply vacuum until it rises and breaks, but do not exceed 2 minutes.
- Careful Pouring: Pour vacuumed investment down the side of the flask, avoiding direct pouring over patterns to prevent breakage. Fill the flask at least 1 inch (2.54 cm) over the pattern.
- Final Vacuuming & Vibration: Vacuum the invested flask for about 1.5 minutes. If using a vacuum mixing unit, continue vacuuming for 1.5 to 2 minutes after filling. Vibration may be applied, if available, to assist in releasing air bubbles from the pattern/investment interface. Release vacuum and fill the flask to the top of the metal edge without overfilling.
- Bench Cure: Allow the investment to sit undisturbed for 2-6 hours to achieve appropriate green strength. If bench curing for more than 6 hours, rewet, cover with a wet cloth, and seal in a plastic bag to prevent cracking.
- Burnout Oven Preparation: After bench curing, remove the sprue base and investing collar. Load flasks button side down into a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C), ensuring at least 1 inch (2.54 cm) elevation above the oven floor to allow proper air circulation and wax drainage.
- Follow Burnout Schedule: Adhere to a wax burnout schedule suitable for your application. A recommended schedule is provided in the product sheet, with adjustments possibly needed for different furnace types, flask sizes and oven loading.
Important Tips:
- Use deionized water for best results.
- Investment powder should always be added to water.
- Keep equipment clean and free of set investment.
- Maintain a minimum clearance from the patterns of ¼ inch (0.05 cm) at the sides and 1 inch (2.54 cm) at the top and bottom.
Storage & Handling:
Store investment in a dry area. Keep the protective bag tightly closed in the container of unused investment powder and close the container when not in use. Avoid skin or eye contact and breathing dust. Wear protective equipment during handling. Wash thoroughly after handling.
