This specially designed miniature cone-forming stake from Fretz® allows you to add cone shapes to your metal forming and shaping capabilities, and apply traditional silversmithing techniques to a much smaller scale. The broader cone measures 9x5mm at the tip; the narrower cone measures 3 x 2.5mm at the tip. During forming, the stake supports the metal while it is worked directly with a hammer. By working on different areas of the stake, you can control the shape and dimension of the metal form.
Designed by Bill Fretz, miniature stakes are specially created for smaller-scale shaping and forming such as rings, bezels and small vessels that can be difficult to make using full-sized stakes. The shapes and sizes of these stakes allow you to precisely shape smaller bezels for rings, bracelets and pendants by stretching the metal to form curves, cups and rims
