01 / PROCESS CONTROL
A rectifier is part of a larger process. Choose controls that help you define the electrical conditions of your work, then validate the finish with your chemistry and setup.
01 — PROGRAM
Store five programs and arrange up to five program steps in a sequence, including repeated programs. Each program has voltage, current-limit, plating-time, reverse-time and end-of-program-delay settings.
02 — TRACK
Track transferred charge with the integrated amp-hour counter. Reset the counter before a batch to measure that run, or retain the accumulated total for your bath supplier’s maintenance guidance.
03 — KEEP RUNNING
Manual mode supports continuous operation without a programmed time limit. Set voltage and current limit, control polarity, and start or stop the output manually. Power and thermal limits still apply.
Amp-hours measure charge, not coating thickness. Deposit quality also depends on chemistry, surface preparation, current density and operating conditions.

Evaluate capacity for racks of chains, findings, pendants and other jewelry components. Programmable outputs and amp-hour tracking bring useful control to recurring batches.

Start with total plated surface area and the current density specified by your chemistry supplier. Tank volume alone does not tell you the current requirement.
This estimates current only. The 80A model has a 950W total power limit: check current × required voltage as well as the current and voltage limits. Confirm the separate 60A ratings with Pepetools.

Choosing a plating power supply starts with understanding what your process needs.
A plating rectifier converts AC input into a controlled DC supply for an electroplating process. The bath chemistry, part geometry and required current density help determine the current and voltage your setup needs. Programmable controls allow you to define electrical settings and timing for a run.
It measures accumulated electrical charge: one amp maintained for one hour equals one amp-hour. This can help you track a run and follow a bath supplier’s amp-hour-based maintenance guidance. It does not directly measure coating thickness or prove metal savings. Current efficiency, plated area, chemistry and other factors still matter.
Calculate current from the total plated surface area and the current density specified by your chemistry supplier. Then confirm required voltage, minimum current, operating duration and suitable margin. Consider IPS for lower-current requirements, and evaluate Digital Precision when your process needs more capacity. The shared Digital Precision listing explicitly specifies 80A at 18V; ask Pepetools for separate 60A voltage and operating specifications.
Sequence mode lets you arrange up to five stored programs in order and reuse a program in more than one step. Each program can have its own voltage, current limit, plating time, reverse time and end-of-program delay. That supports staged electrical settings for copper via-fill development and other multi-stage plating processes. Use a sequence qualified for your chemistry, via geometry and agitation; sequencing alone does not guarantee filling performance or establish high-frequency pulse capability.
For background on the distinct DC and reverse-pulse approaches used in copper filling, see Atotech’s copper plating overview ↗.
The supply has separate maxima of 80A and 18V, with a total output-power ceiling of 950W. Power equals voltage × current, so 80A at 18V would exceed that ceiling. At 80A, the power limit corresponds to about 11.9V; at 18V, it corresponds to about 52.8A. These are calculated power-limit boundaries, not additional performance guarantees. Match the actual voltage and current your bath needs to all three ratings.
Yes, when its electrical range matches your electroforming bath and workpiece. Manual mode can run continuously without a programmed time limit, making it useful for extended copper electroforming runs. The 9h 59m setting applies to the plating time within an individual program. Up to five stored programs can also run in sequence for processes that need staged settings. For the 80A model, check the 18V maximum, the 950W total power limit and the specified 0.35–80A operating range against your process.
Sequence mode runs complete stored programs in a selected order. The manual documents timed polarity reversal and 1-second timing adjustments; it does not specify a high-frequency pulse waveform. If a copper via-fill or other process requires millisecond pulses, a particular frequency or pulse width, verify those requirements with Pepetools before selecting the supply.
Do not assume compatibility from the current rating. Some anodizing and electrocoating processes need voltages beyond the 80A model’s published 18V rating. Provide your chemistry supplier’s complete electrical requirements so the correct equipment can be identified.
The Digital Precision listing includes the rectifier, power cord, instructions and heavy-duty alligator-clip leads. Tanks, chemistry, anodes, part fixtures, preparation equipment, and any heating, agitation or ventilation must be selected for your process. A rectifier is one component of a complete setup.
The manual specifies automatic 110/220V input selection at 50/60Hz, with input ranges of 105–132V or 200–248V. Confirm the circuit requirements, plug or cord arrangement and destination-specific documentation with Pepetools.
